Edinburgh with its vibrant traditional music scene is the place where hundreds of leading musicians, composers and performers have chosen as home in the last decade.The First 'Flowers of Edinburgh' concert which took place on 12th April, 1998 as part of the Shoots & Roots Festival show-cased the wonderful talents of over thirty of those superb artists. The Flowers of Edinburgh CD recorded live at this land-mark concert features a selection of those amazing performances.

Angus Grant - fiddle. Angus is a striking figure and great fiddler with top band Shooglenifty.
Russell Hunter - piano, fiddle. Plays with the Andrew Knight band and his own group Russell's House. Russell can also be heard on Heat the Hoose 2 (CDFSR1707)
Iain MacInnes - Lowland pipes. Iain is a producer with the BBC amd plays with legendary band Ossian and Smalltalk.

Iain MacLeod - mandolin. Everyone's favourite mandolin player, Iain plays in great band Shooglenifty.

Jim Malcolm - vocal, mouth organ. A greatly admired singer/songwriter, Jim plays with Rohallion and The Old Blind Dogs.
Ross Martin - guitar. Known for his beautiful sensitive playing, Ross works with Tabache and has recorded with Fred Morrison.
John Morran - vocal, guitar. The wonderful voice of Deaf Shepherd.
Eilidh Shaw - fiddle. Eilidh is a member of super traditionalband Keep it Up and has recently joined The Poozies. Eilidh can also be heard on Keep it Up (CDFSR1701), Heat the Hoose (CDTT1004), Heat the Hoose 2 (CDFSR1707)
Mae Shaw - vocal. A lovely interpretor of traditional songs.
Jim Sutherland - bodhran, djembe. Record producer, composer award-winning film writer, Jim has played with rock stars Page and Plant and was a member of ground-breaking band The Easy Club.
Simon Thoumire - concertina. Great musician, composer, ideas man, Simon is a winner of the prestigious BBC Young Tradition Award and currently plays with superb Edinburgh trad band Keep it Up. Simon can also be heard on The Big Day In (CDFSR1713), Keep it Up (CDFSR1702), Solo 1 (CDWH001)
