Robin Hall & Jimmie MacGregor and the Galliards - A Rovin' : Robin Hall and Jimmie MacGregor are remembered as one of Scotland's most popular folk duos recording more than 20 albums and appearing on countless television programmes (including a nightly spot for fourteen years on the prime-time 'Tonight' programme in the 1960s) This CD is made from an early 1960s album called A Rovin' which features a mix of tracks from Robin and Jimmie plus several where they feature alongside Leon Rosselson and Shirley Bland - the four of them called themselves 'The Galliards' a group playing mainly Scots trad music. A' Rovin is an interesting, eclectic mix of songs from around the world.
This CD has been produced from a record made over fifty years ago. There may be a few slight imperfections associated with the age of the original material, but we have tried to make the sound quality of the CD as clear and crisp as possible. We hope that you will agree with us that the quality of the music still shines through.
